Because of an inability to agree on certain aspects of the insemination of IM Fleur de Cap with Glenaffric Ulanyo of Zuritamu, I have decided to use another stud dog. More information will be made available soon, or ring Marie on +46 702 363 050.

A big thank you to all who have joined us at our monthly RR get-togethers at Lyskulle, outside Kungsbacka. We've had some really good times, and the two that stand out are probably the September one when Willemijn and Dick Pronk from Kennel Prinkridge in Holland visited us and had a serious go at out agility equipment, and also our October meeting with Alf Andersson from HKK taking us through a good hour of Ringcradt/Socialising. A great time really was had by all.

We're taking a winter break, but hope to see our friends again next year, on the last Sunday of March 2012!

At this year's penultimate Blood Tracking Competition on October 29th, Fleur (SEVCH IM Fleur de Cap) got 42 points out of 42 possible, plus an HP, and Amber (SEVCH Rekaylahn Amber) got 37 points and a First! The terrain was difficult, and I am very very proud of both of them!

Five weeks after the emergency Caesarian on Inanda Mellberg Caenelian, I got the result of the autopsy on the two dead puppies (by Ridgebow's Kaizer of Wasco) removed from her uterus, and as expected it gave no tangible clues as to what may have gone wrong. It's with great pleasure and pride that I can announce that Lionesque Clementine now has been awarded her CV (Curriculum Vitae) titel, i.e. she has five off-spring who have achieved one or more championships. It is a system that originates in the USA where it's known as ROM (Register of Merit), and that was introduced in Sweden at the initiative of Sonja Nilsson from Kennel Roseridge.

At Lofoten he was BOB and BIG-2, then BOB and BIG-2, and then BOB and BIG-3 on the third and last day.

And in Mo and Vefsen he was BOB and BIG-3, and then got Excellent!

I cannot but be exceedingly proud!

On August 6th, Fani (SEVCH IM Fanagalo) whelped eight wonderful little puppies; three dogs and five bitches. All have ridges, thee are no kinked tails, and a first and thorough check showed no DS. The sire is MultiCh Vizara Jukati. For more info, please see Aijelas

There will unfortunately be no puppies by SECH DKCH SEVCH Ridgebow's Kaizer of Wasco ex SEVCH Inanda Mellberg Carnelian. On July 28th, the 64th day of a perfectly normal and uneventful pregnancy, Carnelian went into labour. An hour later the first puppy was born ? a correct but stillborn girl. Three hours later and nothing at all had happened, so I took her to V?stra Djursjukhuset in Gothenburg, where I was lucky enough to find Ann-Mari Kjellgren on duty. A scan showed at least two puppies, but no heart activity.

A Caesarean delivered two dead puppies, a bitch and a dog.

On the positive side ? Carnelian herself seemed both well and lively, with temperature and heart rate well within the range of normal. Uterus and other internal organs also seemed unaffected and healthy.

Tissue has been taken from both afterbirths and sent for analyses, and I will make public the results, both here and on Facebook.

Carnelian returned home the following day, and apart from being quite exhausted she seems "well enough".

On June 18th and 19th we went tracking, and on the 18th Fleur (SEVCH IM Fleur de Cap) got a 1st Prize with HP and Cresta (SEVCH IM Cresta by U) got a 1st Prize. Fleur was also Best Dog of the Trials. On the 19th, Fleur got a 1st Prize and Cresta a 0. Fleur also won the 2011 Field Tracking Cup ? I am so very very proud of her!

Thea (IM Dorothea of Rold) and Katla (IM Potokwani NMS) were shown at H?ssleholm on May 22nd, and I am very proud of them both. Thea and Lars were Exc 3 with a super critique, and Katla and Elin got VG with a great critique ? well done Elin. Rumour also has it that both Lars and Elin actually looked happy in the ring ? hurrah!!!!

All three girls went to Hiller?d in Denmark, and all three did very well indeed. IM Carnelian was Exc 3 in Open Class, Thea (IM Dorothea of Rold) and Lars Rolander were Exc 4 in the same class, and Cresta (IM Cresta by U) and Anette Frosch were Exc 4 in Intermediate Class. All four went to the Breed Special at T?nga Hed, and I'm very very pleased with their results.

This past weekend, Kennel Ridgebow in Sk?ne arranged a course in Ringcraft, led by Maria Kierkegaard-Lundstr?m. Two dogs from IMK joined in; Thea (IM Dorothea of Rold) with Lars Rolander, and Katla (IM Potokwani NMS) with Elin Barnholdt.

Elin and Katla also won the Sunday's show, judged by Maria herself. Big congratulations!

What a weekend! On Saturday April 30th, Rod (IM Edelrood) was BOS at the Danish RR Specialty at Hedensted under Swiss judge Lisbeth Mach. This is the critique: 5 years, red wheaten, correct size, masculine in all details to the standard and correct ridge, a real champion, super temperament and good presentation, classic head with typical expression and dark eyes. Flying in the ring. I like him very much.

Then I took four bitches to the (unofficial) Western Swedish RR Field Tracking Championships, and IM Fleur de Cap won!!! Rekaylahn Amber was 3rd, and IM Cresta by U 4th! Balance was provided by IM Carnelian who managed a big fat ZERO ? she was everywhere but on the track, but as happy as a pig in the proverbial!

Many many thanks to all who were there, to Joachim Bonander and Louise Rosengren for arranging it all, including great food and wonderful prizes, and to four stern but very nice and pleasant judges ? 19 dogs took part, three were "zeroed", two or three got a 3rd, and only one managed the much coveted HP (Honours Prize)!.

Today we had an RR get-together at Lyskulle, and Morgan Hultgren brought Aston (IM Mokoti NMS). This was the first time I saw Aston in almost a year, and a very energetic meeting with mom IM Fleur de Cap followed. Great great GREAT to see the two romping ? many many thanks Morgan!

Huge congrats to Fani (IM Fanagalo), and to handler/owner Anne L?fqvist, who got her Swedish Field Tracking Championship today, April 22nd. Hip hip!!!

I am so very very proud of my "little girl" Cresta, IM Cresta by U, who got her Swedish Field Tracking Championship today, April 22nd. Full points, and 18 minutes.

I'm especially pleased as she had an unpleasant experience, with wolf in the track, last time we tracked competitively, which was on July last year. At the time she completed the track, within the time allowed, but then showed very clearly that she was no longer amused; the next time I took her out she simply would not work. I then gave her six months off, and today's test showed that this did the trick; she was full of enthusiasm, worked close to the track, and at a very good pace. Long live Cresta ? I'm so proud of you!

Carnelian too did very well indeed and she too got a First Prize! Carnelian ? you're my girl!

Uwanja's RAatum, whelped in Finland in April this year by Inanda Mellberg Edelrood ex Athena, was Winner’s Dog and Best of Winners both Saturday and Sunday this past weekend in El Paso, Texas (USA). Congratulations to breeders Jari Fält and Minna Pakkas.

We had our last-Sunday-of-the-month RR get-together this past Sunday, and as you can see the atmosphere was lively! There were altogether about 10 RRs with owners/handlers, and we walked, we measured, checked micro-chips, checked each other dogs, and had a pleasant time! Gregor Zocherman took the lovely pic.

Bad news, I'm afraid! On August 10th, Lexus (IM Dieu Donné) was put down after a brief illness, cancer. He was an excellent tracking dog and fantastic member of the Stenberg family, and we grieve him. Our thoughts are with Tina and Ronnie.

There were seven IMK dogs entered in this year’s double-bill at Tvååker, and six were shown … little Molly (IM Manon of Rold) stayed at home with the family, which now includes a baby girl, born just before Midsummer.

Friday was nothing to write home about, at least not from the point-of-view of show results, but we had a very nice time and lots of fun. Erna-Britt Nordin was very generous with Good and very tight-fisted with the Excellents, and didn’t particularly like either Aramis (IM Athol Aramis by U) or Caesar (IM Sepedi). Rod (IM Edelrood) fared better and was 2nd Best Male with R-CACIB. She also felt that Cresta was too undeveloped and loose as she trotted, but Carnelian got a Very Good and Fani (IM Fanagalo) an Excellent! Well done!

Saturday was better, under judge Erling Kjaer Pedersen. Both Aramis and Caesar got Very Good, while Rod got an Excellent, as did Cresta who was also 3rd Best Junior Bitch, and Carnelian was 2nd Best Working Bitch with CK. Fani was 3rd Best Open Bitch with CK. So we took Caesar, Aramis, Fani and Cresta into the Breeders’ Group, which we won. Onto the Group Finals … but no success there! It was fun though!

All the puppies from the Noldor Majecstic Sinbest x Fleur de Cap litter have now left us, and we’re looking forward to a long and lazy summer.

For the first time ever we went to a WDS, at Herning in Denmark, and the results were very satisfying. Rod (IM Edelrood) was 3rd Best Champion Dog out of a total of 25, while both Carnelian and Cresta were awarded Excellent. The following day we went to the Danish Breed Special at Sunds, where all three dogs were awarded Excellent, and where we were 2nd Best Breeders’ Group with HP. Leon (IM Ludvig of Rold) went to a double show at Bodö this weekend, and he did very well indeed! On the Saturday the judge was Sirik Zafra, Israel, and the result was a Very Good and a Class Win. “Good size, correct head type, a little weak under jaw, good topline and hind quarters, correct ridge and crown. Good mover”. On the Sunday the judge was Kresten Scheel, Denmark, and the result was a Very Good, and a Class Win with HP.

Denmark in May is becoming a bit of a tradition, and this year Anne Löfqvist and Fani (IM Fanagalo) and I and Carnelian (SVCh IM Carnelian) joined forces and went to Hilleröd to try our luck. The results were perhaps not what we had aimed for, but Fani was 3rd Best Open Bitch and Carnelian 5th … and we had a lot of fun! Please see Show Results for Carnelian’s show critique.

A really big CONGRATS to Molly (IM Manon of Rold) and Tina Stenberg on getting a First in Open Field Tracking today … despite both elk and wolf along the track. WELL DONE!!!

How lucky can you get, weather-wise? We had two glorious days with mostly blue skies and sunshine (and NO rain) for the 2010 IMK/Maria Kierkegaard-Lundström weekend of Ringcraft. It was great to see several “oldies” returning to learn yet more from Maria, but it was also very satisfying to see so many new faces … Maria’s reputation goes before her! Many many thanks to all 16 dogs-and-handlers, and don’t forget … next year is our 5th Anniversary!

After qualifying for Crufts 2010, Carnelian and I took to the road and set out for the UK. It was a one-week trip which unfortunately did not result in any rosettes or cups, but it was a fantastic experience and a great confidence builder. Carnelian was entered in Post Graduate Bitch, a class of 21, but despite behaving impeccably she was not amongst the last five! Still. I’m sooo proud of her!

Enzo (IM Malte of Rold) and Massa (IM Conrad of Rold) have been X-rayed, both with with HD:AA and ED:00. Great news ? congrats to Enzo?s owner Sanna and to Massa?s owner Jan!

Rod (IM Edelrood) was 2nd Best Male with CAC at Böö (Norway) today, thereby gaining both his Norwegiam and his Nordic Show Championship. Congratulations to Elisabeth Svendsen, and congratulations and many many thanks to Stinne Elgaard who showed him.

It gives us great great pleasure to announce the birth of IM Inala’s first litter, three dog and five bitch puppies, in South Africa. The sire is Tsavo (Clachan Dlovu of Soutpansberg), a tracker dog in Mpumalanga, near the Western border of the Kruger Park.

I also find it enormously satisfying that co-owners Scotty Stewart and Fran Coole have decided to prioritise enquiries from working homes, and that it would appear that at the time of writing this they have more enquiries than puppies.

Due to circumstances we have decided to postpone the mating between SUCh DUCh SVCh KLBV09 DKVV09 Inanda Mellberg Edelrood and SVCh Rekaylahn Amber. This mating will now probably take place later this year.

Rod (DUCh, SCh, SVCh, KLBV09, DKKV09 IM Edelrood) got Excellent 1 and the Club CAC at Hundslund in Denmark today, making him Danish Club Champion.

SVCh Rekaylahn Amber has come into season rather earlier than anticipated, so I have now taken the decision to postpone the planned mating with DUCh SUCh SVCh KLBV09 DKKV09 Inanda Mellberg Edelrood till this summer.

All the puppies by Ulanyo ex Fleur have now found homes of their own. I am, as always, particularly pleased that two of them have gone to working homes where one or several family members hunt, and where the expressed hope is that the new puppy will eventually be their tracking dog.

Friday October 16th saw IntCh MCh Glenaffric Ulanyo of Zuritamu, sire of our latest litter, win the German Bundessieger title in Dortmund. Congratulations to Ulanyo, and to Jana Mach.

Good news! Melker (IM Ndebele) is X-rayed A:A hips (his elbows were not done), and Inala is clear both hips and elbows (the South African system of grading is not identical to ours!)! Congratulations to the Hansen family, and to Scotty Stewart and Fran Coole in South Africa!

Rod (IM Edelrood) stayed at home this weekend and got an Excellent 2 and was Best Male 3 in Copenhagen! Well done and congrats to Rod (obviously), and to Jo-Ann Nielsen (Kennel Kuzonga) and Elisabeth Svendsen!

The Råå Club Show is always a super occasion, but puppies in the house prevented from attending in person this year! However, Thea (IM Dorothea of Rold), Molly (IM Manon of Rold), Zeya (IM Sapphire) and Fani (IM Fanagalo) flew the flag, with Thea 2nd Best Jr Bitch with CK, Molly 3rd Best Jr Bitch with CK, and both Zeya and Fani 1st with excellent critiques! And, to top it, IMK was best in the Breeders’Class, with HP and “Clear Winner” in the critique!

As we never got our judge’s critique after the Breeders’ Group at Blåhöj on Aug 29th, and as the class was a bit stressed, I knew full well that we were no 2, but did not understand that we also got an HP! The group consisted of:

IMK was represented by four dogs at the Danish Club Show at Blåhöj, judged by Janet Wang. Rod (IM Edelrood) was 3rd Best Ch Male and 4th Best Dog overall, while Fani (IM Fanagalo) was 2nd Best Bitch! Rod (DKUCh SUCh SVCh Inanda Mellberg Edelrood) was BOB with CACID at Hilleröd under judge Andrzej Kazmierski this weekend. A critique with a difference: ”Imposing male full of fire, well constructed, but first of all excellently balanced in the movement, he moves like a rocket”. A HUGE congrats to Elisabeth Svendsen and Jo-Ann Nielsen (Kennel Kuzonga).

Saga (IM Ruby) has been X-rayed with HD:AA and ED:00. This means that this entire litter is clear, and that feels great!

Rod (SUCh DUCh SVCh KLBV09 IM Edelrood) is about to be a dad again, this time with Vignons Aussi Tessa, a South African bitch imported to Denmark.
